Charlie Parr

1985-2021

Charlie grew up fishing and backpacking in the mountains of Colorado. His conservation and outdoor education work started in college and became his north star. He was happiest when he was deep in the backcountry, teaching kids to fish and showing them new, wild places.

Charlie was a force - he lived every minute fiercely. It's our goal to bring that same intensity and urgency to the work LFFCF is doing. To carry on Charlie's legacy, LFFCF has established a scholarship and grant in his name. It's our hope that these will help protect wild places and inspire many young people just as Charlie did.

Charlie Parr Memorial Scholarship

Charlie had an unwavering belief that wild places are worth protecting and that everyone should have access to them. The Charlie Parr Memorial Scholarship Fund will work to make that vision a reality by granting need-based scholarships for teens to participate in LFFE summer programs and merit-based scholarships for college juniors and seniors who embody Charlie's dedication to conservation and education.

Charlie's interests and passions were broad and varied, but his commitment to conservation and outdoor education could be seen in almost everything he did. The Charlie Parr Memorial Grant aims to help fund projects that work to keep this commitment alive.
